These terms apply to maltapethaven.com ("the site"). By using the site you accept
them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
What the site is
Malta Pet Haven is a directory of pet services in Malta, with community features such as reviews,
lost-pet alerts and a rehoming section. We publish information about businesses and let people
contact them — we do not provide the services ourselves, and we are not a party to any arrangement
you make with a listed business.
Nothing here is veterinary or medical advice. For any health problem, contact a
qualified vet. If your pet is in danger, contact a vet or the emergency services directly.
Accounts
Give accurate information when you register and keep it up to date.
Keep your password to yourself — you are responsible for activity on your account. Use a password you do not reuse elsewhere.
Tell us at [email protected] if you think someone else has access to it.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms.
Listings and claims
Business details are compiled from public sources and from information submitted by owners, and may contain mistakes or become out of date. Always confirm details directly with the business.
If you submit a listing, a correction or a claim, you confirm the information is accurate and that you are entitled to provide it. Do not submit details for a business you do not represent.
We may edit, decline or remove any listing — for example if details cannot be verified, if the business has closed, or if a request breaks these terms.
Claiming a listing involves confirming you represent that business; we may ask for evidence before approving a claim.
Paid features
Some features are paid — for example claiming a listing, featured placement, or a subscription. Prices are shown before you pay, in euro.
Payments are handled by our payment provider. Card details are entered on their pages and are never stored by us.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your account, or by writing to [email protected]; cancelling stops future renewals.
Refunds are given where the law requires them, and otherwise at our discretion.
Content you post
What you post stays yours. By posting, you give us permission to display it on the site and to use it to run and promote the site.
Only post content you have the right to share, and only photos you took or have permission to use.
Do not post anything unlawful, misleading, harassing, hateful or obscene, and do not post other people's personal details without their consent.
We may remove content that breaks these terms, and may restrict accounts that repeatedly do so.
Reviews and community rules
Review only services you have actually used, and describe your own experience.
No fake reviews, no reviews written in exchange for payment or favours, and no reviews aimed at damaging a competitor.
Businesses are welcome to reply to a review, but not to pressure anyone into removing one.
Keep it civil: no personal attacks, discrimination, or sharing of private information.
Lost-pet alerts
Lost-pet alerts and sightings are community information, not a guaranteed or verified service. The public
board is separate from the Government missing-pet report and does not notify the Microchipping Section.
Alert photos, pins and sighting notes are visible to anyone viewing the alert; an owner’s email or phone
is shown only when the owner explicitly chooses to publish it. Do not post another person’s private
details. Contact the owner or a vet directly if you have information about a pet.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to the site, its accounts or its data.
Do not scrape or bulk-copy the directory, or use it to send unsolicited marketing to listed businesses.
Do not misuse the contact features to send spam, abuse or anything unlawful.
Links to other sites
The site links to businesses and other websites we do not control. We are not responsible for their
content, their availability or how they handle your data.
Availability and disclaimers
The site is provided "as is". We work to keep it available and accurate but cannot promise that it
will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that every listing is correct or current. To the extent the law
allows, we exclude implied warranties.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss
arising from your dealings with a business found through the site. Nothing in these terms limits
liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by
negligence, or for fraud.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change, and significant changes will be flagged
on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Malta, and the courts of Malta have jurisdiction.
